Based on what you know about the problems of poverty and addiction facing Native Americans and the history that may have led to these problems, as well as what you learned by reading the article, what should be done with Native American children who are being neglected?

I think that maybe children who are neglected from their families should be put into a foster home. Also I feel like if they are being neglected from the biological needs then the government should see that and help them out because kids haven't done anything really serious to harm anyone.
ReplyDeleteI think that the government needs to put the kids in foster homes but before that they need to see if their is a family member or friend on the reservation that the child would like to be with. Moving these kids away from their tribes and reservations defiantly takes their culture away.
ReplyDeleteThe government needs to locate the childs;s family because we are the ones who took them aaway from their home in the first place. They also need to make sure the kids collects some amount of money to start their life in the real world again
ReplyDeleteI think that those children should be either put into a foster care or go to another persons house. I also feel like they should not leave the reservation because then they are losing their culture.
ReplyDeleteAs we have seen so far none of the policies have generally worked out. I feel that we should do what Cori was saying and put the kids in foster homes. we should let them preserve their culture but better them for easier lives. We need to educate them better so they have a chance in the real world and are able to support their families
ReplyDeleteI feel that the us government should put native american children into a foster home where they can be more cared to then they are in the reservation.
ReplyDeleteBy taking children away from their families, they lose their culture. If their parents are abusing them then I think that the right thing to do is to remove them from their homes and put them with a qualified family that shares the same culture.
ReplyDeleteI feel like the government should put these misbehaving Native American children under the care of other Native Americans who can teach these kids the right way to act while still maintaining their Native rituals and traditions.
ReplyDeleteI dont think they should take away the kids from their families unless something really bad is going on. If anything they should take the kids away and put them with other Native American Families so they can stay with their culture and traditions.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the government should help the family to fix the problems held at home. But if the home situation doesn't get better they should take the children and place them in a home that they can safely live in. But if the children want to keep there culture they should help in ever way to make the culture thrive more.
