Civil War in Syria

The civil war in Syria has been going on for over a year, and last month the United Nations issued a cease fire. This didn't stop the violence, it actually made it worse. The U.N has deployed a small amount of troops to monitor areas in Syria, but this hasn't stop the violence either. The U.N's next move is undecided as of now, so my question for you is: What do you think the U.N should do to help end the violence in Syria? Will following the "Just War" guidelines work?

  1. I think following the Just War guidleines will work in this situation seeing as how they are showing a threat now even after the U.N called a cease fire. The next movement the U.N should make is to follow the Just War guideline and get a legitimate authority to declare war.

  2. I believe that the Just War guidelines are being followed because they are trying other steps before declaring war. They have tried provided military aid but it has not helped much. I also believe that the next step should be declaring war because they have tried other things and this may end violence.

  3. I also believe that the Just War guidelines are being followed because the U.N. has tried using other options. I also believe that more options should be used such as humanitarian aid.

  4. I thinl that the just war guidelines should be followed as well because then the U.N can have a better chance of being successful in stopping the violence. So if the U.N tries more tools and guidelines then they might have a better chance with ending violence.
