Current Event

The Article I read was Alabama Wins in Ruling on its Immigration Law. It is about how Alabama is changing there immigration law and that it is now the most strictest and harshest out of all the states. Judge Blackburn outlawed the transportation and harboring of illegal immigrants and that they can no longer attend or enroll in public Universities. She also says that police will check for immigration statuses at arrests and trafic stops or for any reasonable suspicion. It was never the polices responsibiltiy it was the governments to check for illegal immigrants. Do you think there is an issue with the new law? What could be some problems they will face?

  1. This law will end up seriously hurting many people, because there are many illegal immigrants in the country that came with relative when they were young, they did not chose to be here, the family did so this law can affect really bad such people.

  2. I agree with nilton tons of kids had no choice to come to a new country. They were just brought by their parents. I feel like they should let them stay because a lot to the immigrants are only here for jobs and education. Also to take away someones right to learn is messed up and I think they should let them stay for their education so they can then go back to their country and get permission by gov. to be here and then they can come back and make a new life for themselves and their family.

  3. I thought it was against the law for the government to deny public education. I think there is an issue with the new law. It shouldn't be the job of a police officer to check if Alabama citizens are legal or not.

  4. I think the federal government should be in charge of immigration in the united states because not state can break federal law. I think every one has a right to and education just because they are illegal doesn't mean they can't get an education.
